Initiative is Washington State's Only Full-Tuition, Full-Need Urban Leadership Scholarship
for emerging urban leaders who want to use their college education to
make a difference on campus and in their communities at home.

Phase II Events Scheduled for Saturday,
November 22 and Monday, November 24.
Tacoma-Seattle applicants selected as candidates are required to participate in
the Phase II event on Saturday, November 22
at Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way (map).
Tacoma-Seattle candidates have been assigned to either the morning (8:30 a.m.)
session or the afternoon session (10:30 a.m.) session.
Spokane candidates are required to participate in
the Phase II event Monday, November 24 at 4:30 p.m.
at Rogers High School in Spokane (map).

45 Scholarships to Five College
Partners
The number of scholarships has tripled as Act Six has added
three new partner colleges, a new city, and a new track to a
four-year degree.
- Now in Tacoma-Seattle and Spokane
Students from Spokane can now
apply to be Act Six scholars at Whitworth University and Gonzaga University.
Students from the Tacoma-Seattle area can
apply to Whitworth
University, Pacific Lutheran University, Northwest University, and Gonzaga University.
Students from Tacoma can apply for the
Urban Service Track to Trinity Lutheran College.
- New Urban Service Track
Through the new Act Six Urban Service Track, Tacoma students
can apply to gain two years of street-level urban service experience
with local non-profits in Tacoma while earning an associate's degree
at Tacoma Community College before transferring to Trinity Lutheran
College to earn their bachelor's degree in the same four-year
time-frame.

Act Six Celebrates Cadre Two Graduates
On May 18, the second cadre
of Tacoma Act Six scholars
graduated from Whitworth with records of
distinguished leadership, service and academic achievement. By
December 2008, 21 of the original 22 scholars in the first two
cadres will have earned their bachelor's degree within five years. Meet this
